Acupuncture is recognized in the West for its ability to reduce pain, yet it has been used in Asia for thousands of years to treat a wide range of health concerns. Over twenty years ago, the World Health Organization published a list of 43 conditions that lend themselves to acupuncture therapy, and over 100 medical conditions that can be treated with acupuncture with some beneficial effect.
Dr. Prange offers the following list of appropriate conditions to be referred to his practice. Initial patient evaluation provides diagnosis of western medical conditions consistent with the principles of Oriental Medicine. Treatment may involve acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, infrared and ultrasound therapy, and bodywork. Treatment is designed to reduce chronic tension and promote optimal circulation of blood, lymph and energy to help the body heal itself. Energy exercises and nutritional recommendations are provided. Dr. Prange networks with other licensed health care practitioners as needed to support full recovery.
